Before you choose
Will it fit your home?
Start with your room, then check every part of the journey from the entrance to its final place.
Plan your room
Measure where the furniture will sit. Mark its assembled width and depth on the floor with paper or a floor-safe template. Check the height, door swings and space to walk past, pull out chairs or open drawers. Include the extra clearance needed for extending or reclining furniture.
Check the piece and its packaging
Use measurements for your exact size and configuration. Assembled dimensions describe the finished piece; packaged dimensions describe what must travel through your home. Check every package or separate delivery component. Do not assume legs, arms or packaging can be removed to make it fit.
Measure the whole delivery route
Follow the route from the building entrance to the room. Record the narrowest clear width and height of doorways and hallways, allowing for handles, rails and fixed fittings. Check turning space and the area beyond doors. For stairs, measure width, headroom and landings. For lifts, check the door opening, interior width, depth and height, and building delivery restrictions.
Measurements help with planning; they do not guarantee delivery access. Tight turns or limited clearance need a delivery assessment before ordering. Resolve missing measurements before you buy.
